1. In front of the church before mass
Approximately 15 minutes

1. Martxa.  Beginning from the grotto, dancers move up the stairs playing castanets only.  Then from the top of the steps, the martxa sequence begins to the center of the front steps.  The martxa cycle (3-vuelta-1-salto-1-salto/vuelta) is used here, but with staggered entry of one pair at a time: so the captain and the first pair dance out first, then numbers 2s, etc.  The group then swings around to face the front door to end with the kick of the "salto/vuelta."  Dancing ends but playing castanets continues as we transition into ...
2. Kuadros.  This is done twice so each foursome gets a turn on the outside and inside.  At the end of the second, another martxa begins and from here the group transitions into..
3. Statue escort.  From facing the door, the group returns to the corner to escort the statue in by again dancing the martxa with staggered entry (the captain and first pair turn and go, then the second pair, etc.). When the martxa ends in front of the steps, stop playing to allow for the statue to move into position. [at this time it is possible to substitute dancers].
4. Kontrapas.  Part 1 is playing the castanets in place; 2 is the rotation into horizontal lines; 3 is the removal of the txapela with 4 being one march cycle that then transitions into dancers picking up the sticks as they weave through the lines to form for the first set of hits
5. Makil I.  Weave through the lines and form for the first hitting of sticks (either staying in place or going around just once counter-clockwise).
6. Zortzikoa.  Zortzikoa substitutes the genuflexion portion with switching lines, ends with a transition into makil dantza.
7. Makil II.  The group moves counterclockwise every beat to make two complete rotations; when finished go straight up the steps (so people know to go inside).
8. Zubia.  Create archway with hoops for the entry into the church.

2.  During Mass: BANAKOA

At the singing of the “Holy, Holy” we move into our positions where we stand until our signal to ascend the altar which is when the chalice is placed atop the altar after the consecration, and the priest kneels (& hopefully steps back off the steps).
