Goizian Goiz Jeikirik
The story of a meeting of two youngsters. A young male asks the young maiden if she needs help fetching water, she declines, but he insists. When they arrive at the spring, he asks her how she is and she responds, "sixteen...not old enough to marry you." Getting up before dawn I went to the fountain to get some water. A young man followed me asking if I wanted a companion to the fountain. I told him that my father was watching from a window. Despite this he took the jug from my arms and asked, Him: “How old are you?” Me: “I’m not quite 17” I replied “to marry you I’m a little young. I’m scarred to go back home. I don’t know how to lie to my mother about the delay.” Him: “My girl, tell your mother that a pigeon that flies during the night made the water dirty and you had to wait till the water cleared.” Me: “Since we know now what to tell my mother lets put down that jug and have a good time!”

Goizean goiz jeikirik,
argia gaberik,
urera joan ninduzun pegarra harturik.
Traleralala . . .
Jaun txapeldun gazte bat
jin zautan ondotik,
eia nahi nuenez urera lagunik.
Nik ez nuela nahi
urera lagunik,
aita beha zagola salako leihotik.
Aita beha zagola,
ezetz errangatik,
pegarra joan zerautan besotik harturik.
Urera ginenian,
biak buruz buru
galdegin zautan ere: Zenbat urte tuzu?
"Hamasei, hamazazpi
orain ez konplitu.
Zurekin ezkontzeko gazteegi nuzu."
"Etxerat itzultezko
nik dudan beldurra!
Ez jakin nola pentsa amari gezurra!"
"Neska, nahi duzu
nik erakuts zuri
etxerat etortzean zer erran amari?"
"Urzo xuri polit bat,
gauaz dabilana,
hark ura zikindurik, egotu naiz ama."
"Dakigunaz gerotzik
zer erran amari,
dugun pegarra pausa
[gaitezen liberti."]

Goizian Argi Hastian
Lyrics: Etxahun Iruri
Version: B. Lertxundi--Zuberoa
At dawn a bird comes and sings close by my window.
Talking to the bird: “When I hear you singing so happily my sadness changes to happiness too! But, my nice bird, why did you come to wake me from the beautiful dreams I was having? Coming so early did you think I would have sorrows or unhappiness? No! No! Please go now to someone who is sadder than I.”

Goizian argi hastian, ene leiho-hegian.
Txori bat pausatzen da eta, goratik hasten kantan.
Txori eijera, hain alegera, entzuten haidanian.
Ene bihotzeko tristura, laister duak aidian.
Ene txoririk, maitena, zertaz jin hiz ni gana.
Iratzarrazi nialarik ametsik eijerrena.
Jinik hain goizik, uste hiena. Baniala hanitx pena?
Ez, ez, habil kontsolatzera. Malerusago, dena.
Gora ta gora beti
Lyrics: Aresti
Version: Oskorri--Hamabost urte eta gero hau

Gora ta gora beti, haik gora Lapurdi}
Euskarak bizi gaitu, eta bizi bedi.} 2
Gorantza doa agudo kapitala.
Eta Lapurdi beti dago apala,
Aldrebesturik dago mundu zitala.
Konformatzen ez bagara, ze pekatu mortala!
Geurea ez da bizi-modu normala,
lurra lantzeko haitzurra eta pala,
lanaren truke kobratzen erreala.
Benetan da miserable, euskaldunon jornala.
Munduan ezin bizi diteke hala,
merkatuetan dena gora doala,
etxera eta zopa guztiz argala,
kriseiluen olioa, ez da postre formala.
Jabeek dute kontzientzi zabala,
kakastu dute gure lurren azala,
baina Lapurdi ez da hain zerbitzala;
burruka garbian dago. Hori da printzipala.
Goxo Da Bizitzea
Hondarrabia
Lyrics:Etxahun-Iruri
Version: Arrantzaleak
It’s nice to live in the mountains the mountains of Xubero in tranquillity. But I’ll also admit that on the southern side of the Basque country near the ocean there are some nice places also.
Ondarrabia, Donostia and Bilbao, you are so beautiful, you have taken my heart. The welcome I got there will never be forgotten. Sitting in a corner, Ondarabia sits proudly by the water while smiling at its neighbor Hendaya. Its old Santa Maria church is full of richness.
I saluted Donostia from Monte Igeldo. With thousands of colors it is magnificent. Compared to all of the flowers it is a rose and its people are Basque to their roots.

Goxo da bizitzea Xibero gainean.
Mendi horien artian trankilitatean.
Hargatik aitortzen dut, mugaz bestaldian.
Badirela xoko hunak itsas bazterrian.
Kantatzerat banua hek pentsamentian.
Hondarrabia 'ta Donostia, ere bain Bilbao
Euskal Herrian, ederraz zidie hain paregabeko.
ene bihotza hartu duzie osorik betiko.
ziek egin batzarri ederra ez dit ahantziko!
Xokota batetan da fierik Ondarrabi
Urez inguraturik, irriz Hendaiari
Bere gaztelu guduetan nola kolpaturik
Santa Maria eliza untarzunez fundi.
Monte Igeldotik zit, agur Donostia!
Denen artian zira arrosa lilia
Kontxaren ungurian bipil da herria
Bere mila kolorekin espantagarria
Ta errotik Euskaldun da hanko jentia.
Gu Gira Euskadiko
Lyrics: Mixel Labeguerie
Version: Erramun Martikorena
We are the new youth of Euskadi (Basque Country). Euskadi is our well being.
Father what did you do with our cherished Basque language? You raised your son with a foreign language. For our father to have lost such a rich asset, our hearts are ashamed.
We have our country given by our lord! Why have our sons allowed it to die? We have to put the Basque country back together. Let us reunite all of our forces to do this.

Gu gira Euskadiko, gazteri berria}
Euskadi bakarra da, gure aberria.} 2
Aita zer egin duzu, euskera maitea?
Ederra hasi duzu, oi zure semea
Ontasun ederra aita, batek galtzea.
Biotzean sartua dogu ahalgea.
Jaungoikoak emana or dugu herria.
Bere semek iltzera, zergaitik utzia?
Bat egin behar dugu, Euskadi guzia.
Bildu gaiten, anaiak, gure da bizia.
Guk Euskaraz
Lyrics: Aresti
Version: Urko

[Euskara putzu sakon, eta ilun bat zen] 2
[Eta zuek, denok ur gazi bat
atera zenuten, handik nekez.] 2
Guk Euskaraz, zuk zergatik ez?} 2
[Orain zuen birtutez, zuen indarrez] 2
[Euskara itsas urdin, eta zabal
bat izanen da, eta guria da.] 2
